Day 8

Repentance is such a deep meaningful word that can really change someone’s life if they will allow it! I really enjoyed the authors thoughts about repentance especially “The true change that signal authentic repentance requires courage, faith and hope.” That is such a true and powerful statement! As I think about the concept of repentance and what it means to me as Christian, I realize even more how vitally important it is for me to not only confess my shortcomings to the Lord, but also to completely repent and turn away! Day 6

As I reflect on today’s devotion, I think about the idea of pain and endurance. I know that many of you, like myself have endured a illness and some very severe illnesses over the past few weeks and months as the flu and other illness have swept through our communities. I know that for many, you were out of commission for quite some time and certainly that caused many inconveniences.

Day 4

Today is “Reflection Saturday”, as you will hear me refer to it, it is a day that not only do we have a small devotional thought and passage, but it is a day that I think and reflect and respond to to the question in our devotional. Day 3

We have now come to day three in our journey and day three is typically the turning point in every pivotal resolution that you have made. Day 2

Today, as I reflect on the devotional I was encouraged by several thoughts! First of all, the thought of John 20:25, “We have seen the Lord.” What an amazing moment(s) this must have been as all of the fears and anxieties that the disciples had been facing since the crucifixion of our Lord were experiencing and now they were all being expelled because they had seen the Lord!

Day 1

Today has finally arrived, the day we begin our journey as a church toward a deeper and more fulfilling relationship with Christ and our church! It is a day that I have personally been looking forward to as my greatest desire is to see ,first of all myself, strengthen my walk with Christ, and also to see our church engaged with each other and personally in the Word of God! I hope that you were able to get one of our devotional books “This is Love – Acts of the Savior” as we make our Lenten Journey together as a church and family!

What is Lent?

Some of you may not be familiar with the season of Lent. In the church year, there are two major climaxes – there is the season of Christmas, where we celebrate the incarnation of God in Jesus. Then, there is the season of Easter, where we celebrate the atoning death of Jesus and the victory of resurrection. Advent is the season which prepares us for Christmas – it lasts 4 weeks. Lent is the season that prepares us for Easter, and it lasts about 6 weeks.

Lent 2018

Our student ministries will also have an active role in being engaged each week with lessons that coincide with the devotionals as well.
